The Railway Sleeper Goby, Valenciennea helsdingenii, also known as the Sleeper Railway Glider Goby or the Twostripe Sleeper Goby, is a silvery-white color with two long black stripes horizontally crossing its body. This fish makes for an excellent addition to most reef aquariums as it is reef safe and non-aggressive. Ample open rock formations and a soft sandy substrate should be in your tank for the Railway Sleeper Goby. The Railway Sleeper Goby can also be a beneficial member to your tank as it is constantly aerating substrate and bringing up nutrients for other tank members. The Railway Sleeper Goby should be housed in a tank at least 25 gallons and should not be kept with members of its own species, unless they are a mated pair. It takes a carnivorous diet of mysis and brine shrimp as well as other carnivorous foods.
