What a visit looks like

The boring parts, done right, every time

A tech arrives with the water already mixed, tests before touching anything, changes water, cleans glass and equipment, tops off the ATO, and leaves a report of what was found and what to watch. Freshwater or saltwater, the checklist is the same discipline.

  • Water mixed in our systems, never from your tap
  • Same tech on your tank whenever possible
  • Report after every visit, with photos when something changed
  • Problems flagged early, before they become a loss
Design and installs

From an empty wall to a running reef

We design around what you want to keep, then build to that: tank and stand, sump and plumbing, lighting, flow, controller, and the aquascape. Water stations, RO/DI, and through-wall runs are all in scope. Projects range from a nano on a desk to multi-room custom builds.

Recent work

A custom build, start to finish

The tank in place

A Planet Aquariums custom build on its stand, plumbed through the wall to the fish room behind it.

Custom water station

Mixing and storage with valved manifolds, so water changes are a tap, not a bucket.

Plumbing and UV

Clean, labeled runs with unions where they matter, so service never means a saw.

Controllers and troubleshooting

Neptune Apex programming and tank diagnostics

Setup, dosing and lighting schedules, alarms, and the automation that keeps a tank steady while you are away. Remote or on site. When something is wrong and you cannot see it, we come diagnose it: equipment, water, livestock or layout.

  • Apex setup, programming and clean-up of inherited code
  • Alarms and notifications that reach you
  • Troubleshooting visits for crashes, algae and losses
  • Custom water stations, lighting and automation

Common questions

Before you book

How often should my tank be serviced?

Every two to four weeks for most tanks. Heavily stocked systems and show tanks do best weekly. We will recommend a rhythm after the first visit.

What happens on a visit?

Water testing, a water change with the water included, glass and equipment cleaning, filter maintenance, substrate vacuuming where needed, an ATO top-off, and an inspection with a written report. Coral trimming, disease treatment and aquascape changes are available on request.

Do you service freshwater tanks?

Yes. Planted, community and cichlid tanks all have their own needs and our techs handle both freshwater and saltwater.

Where do you work?

We are based in Pennsylvania and cover PA, MD, DE, NJ and VA, and beyond for the right project. Tell us where you are and we will say yes or point you somewhere good.

Can you help me pick and source fish and coral?

Yes. We advise on compatible livestock and source it, and our own fish go through a full quarantine before they are offered. Service clients get first pick.

Do you handle emergencies?

We do. Equipment failures, disease outbreaks and water-quality crashes get a priority visit; ask about availability when you sign up.

Can you set up a new aquarium?

Yes, from choosing the equipment to the aquascape and first stocking. See the installs section above and send us the room.

Is there support between visits?

Yes. Feeding, parameters, equipment questions and anything that looks off: message us and we will answer, or come out if it needs eyes.
