Description

The Longjaw Wrasse, Cheilinus sp., also known as the Cocktail Wrasse, comes in many different colors including red and brown. Red is the most common coloration for the Longjaw Wrasse. The Longjaw Wrasse is named for its thin, protruding snout. Adult Longjaw Wrasses have elaborate and unique patternings across their wrasse-shaped bodies. Like most wrasses, ample hiding spots should be found within the tank. A substrate of sand is recommended. The Longjaw Wrasse will thrive in a tank community if housed with other semi-aggressive fish. Monitor with small invertebrates as the Longjaw Wrasse will feed on them. Also be sure to have a lid on your tank as the wrasse may seek to jump out. The Longjaw Wrasse will eat both frozen meaty foods and dry flake food. Overall, the Longjaw Wrasse is a stunning fish that will thrive within most reef communities.
