How this works
Salt mass balances: the salt you remove plus the salt you add ends at the target. Lowering uses fresh water, raising uses saltwater mixed above target. Your auto top-off should always be fresh water.

How fast can I change salinity?
About 1 ppt per day for a reef. Fish-only can go a little faster.
My salinity keeps creeping up. Why?
Usually saltwater is going into the top-off, or salt creep is getting knocked back in. Top off with fresh RO/DI only.
