The Blue Line Trigger is commonly referred to as the Rippled Triggerfish. Since the Blue Line Trigger is very aggressive predatory fish, it is best to keep an adult in a large tank of 100 gallons. It is very hardy fish species as well as easy to care, that is why it is considered a good choice for a beginner aquarist. The Blue Line Trigger also requires excellent mechanical and biological filtration in the home aquarium environment, since it eats large amounts of meaty foods that can quickly foul the water. It often blows sand and substrate for invertebrates to eat and undermining the foundations of rocks and coral. With its beautiful colored body and unique pattern, the Blue Line Trigger makes a captivating addition to any aquarium. At its juvenile stage, it shows bright yellowish tanned body with bright blue lines along with yellow markings on blue fins, which tends to fade a bit as they become adults. The Blue Line Trigger has the typical triggerfish anal and dorsal fins, along with a crescent shaped tailfin. Like all Triggerfish, the Bluelined Triggers have a spine located on the top of their head that can be locked in an erect position to help lock them in place when hiding in amongst rocks or corals. Make sure not to keep it with corals, invertebrates or smaller shy fishes as it can cause harm, which makes it unsuitable for reef tanks. The Blue Line Trigger should be fed with a varied diet of different types of meaty foods including chopped shrimp, squid, clams or fish.
