Description
The Orange Mexican Dwarf Lobster (Cambarellus patzcuarensis ‘Orange’, or CPO) is a small, bright orange freshwater crayfish, typically 1.5–2 inches long, ideal for nano or community tanks. Native to Mexico, these active scavengers are peaceful toward fish but need hiding spots due to vulnerability after molting.
Key Care Details:
- Tank Size: Minimum 10 gallons for a pair; they are excellent for smaller aquariums.
- Water Conditions: Temperature , with a GH of at least 6 to support healthy molting.
- Diet: Omnivores, feeding on leftover fish food, algae wafers, and protein-rich sinking pellets

Compatibility: Generally safe with fish, but may pick at delicate shrimp or slow-moving bottom dwellers; they can be territorial with their own kind.Behavior: They frequently climb, so a secure aquarium lid is highly recommended to prevent escape.
