Description

The Indian Vagabond Butterfly, Chaetodon decussatus, also known as the Black Vagabond Butterfly, features white body with diagonal black chevron-like stripes, a black eye bar and a yellow striped tail. Juvenile Indian Vagabond Butterflies resemble the adults with the addition of a black spot in the back half of their body.

Indian Vagabond Butterfly Care Facts: 
  • they are best kept in pairs and must be kept in a tank of at least 150 gallons with plenty of live rock and free swimming space
  • pairs should be introduced at the same time
  • usually best kept in FOWLR tanks as they are prone to nipping on corals and sessile inverts
  • relatively difficult to keep so best kept by an experienced aquarist
  • will eat an varied omnivorous diet 2-3 times per day and may have trouble eating at first but will eventually acclimate
