The Pink and Blue Shrimpgoby, Cryptocentrus leptocephalus, has a beautiful blue/white body with muted pink striping and vibrant neon spots across its face and back. It thrives well in tanks with plenty of live rock, a sandy substrate, and a tightly sealed lid to prevent escapes. The Pink and Blue Shrimpgoby is not aggressive but can be territorial with members of its own species in close quarters. They should never be held with aggressive tank mates like triggers but do very well with peaceful tank mates. Sometimes, the Pink and Blue Shrimpgoby can will feed twice a day, but can also nip on small ornamental shrimps so be careful. They will build a burrow in the sand with spend much of their time swimming into the water column to collect food. They can form a symbiotic relationship with some species of shrimp, like the Pistol Shrimp. It is best to introduce multiple species at the same time to hedge against one of them becoming territorial. Overall, the Pink and Blue Shrimpgoby is an excellent addition to any peaceful reef tank.
