The Blue Bar Psuedochromis, Pseudochromis cyanotaenia, also known as the Surge Dottyback or the Blue Bar Dottyback is a colorful hardy fish. Males are dark blue with tinges of yellow and a yellow stripe traversing its back while females are grey with a yellow/orange tail. Dottybacks are very lively and hardy fish. They are great for beginner aquarists. The Blue Bar Psuedochromis will eat most varieties of prepared foods including flake food and meaty frozen brine or mysis shrimp. The Blue Bar Psuedochromis is, however, territorial, therefore there should only be one in a tank. They are friendly with most other fish. The Blue Bar Psuedochromis prefers to have ample amounts of live rock for it to swim around in and hide in. The Blue Bar Psuedochromis is a great reef fish as they are hardy, beautiful, and are even known for eating pesky and unwanted bristleworms.
