Description

The Double Saddle Butterfly, Chaetodon falcula, is commonly referred to as the as the True Falcula Butterflyfish, Doublesaddle Butterflyfish, Blackwedged Butterflyfish, or Saddled Butterflyfish. It is named appropriately as its dorsal area is dominated by two dark saddle patches, with a yellow patch between them, a white body and a black eye bar.

 
Double Saddle Butterfly Care Facts: 
  • can be kept in pairs or alone
  • best kept in established tanks of at least 125 gallons with plenty of live rock hiding places and free swimming space
  • they can nip on soft corals and sessile inverts, specifically anemones, mushroom corals, stony coral polyps, and nudibranchs
  • they should not be housed with aggressive tank mates
  • will be fed an omnivorous diet multiple times per day
