The PMUP (Practical Multi-purpose Utility Pump) is a 24VDC submersible pump that has multiple uses for your aquarium needs, including:
- Auto Top-Off (ATO)
- Carbon Reactors
- GFO Reactors
- Biobellet Reactors
- and many other marine or freshwater needs
What`s new with the Version 2 PMUP you ask?
- It comes equipped with an automatic shut off when dry
- Features an over-temperature protection
- Stands upright on a newly designed removable slotted screen
- Easier to clean and maintain
Connecting your PMUP
The PUMP still connects to the DC24 accessory ports on either the 1Link Module, Energy Bar 832, WAV powerheads, or, the new Apex. These ports are switchable and can power the pump on or off just as any other outlet on the Energy Bar.
ATO Use
One of the more popular uses the previous PMUP was known for, it still holds true for Version 2
With enough power to push water upward to 14 feet – that`s a whole floor up! This means you could store your RO in your basement, downstairs in a utility room and still have enough juice to top your tank off.
With its vertical design, bottom intake and top oriented output the PMUP will fit nicely into jugs or other RO containers by simply dropping it in.
Reactor Use
Now you can run GFO, carbon, or biopellet reactors safely and while using less than 20 Watts of power, which in turn reduces heat exchanged into the aquarium.
Removable Screen
Clean and maintain your pump has never been easier. Many other ATO pumps are not designed to be maintained, so once they become unsalvageable or inoperable, they are disposed of. The PMUP, however, has in easily removable screen cover that not only keeps unwanted objects out, but also makes it easy to clean and service the pump.
Plumbing
The PMUP`s output easily connects to standard tubing or fittings. It has a smooth 3/8″ (9.5mm) output a silicon tube can slip right over, or, a standard push-fit connector to accommodate hard-line tubing.
