The Pictilis Anthias, <i>Pseudanthias pictilis</i>, also known as the Painted Golden Anthias, and Painted Goldie, has a beautiful combination of yellow, orange, and pink to create alluring coloration resembling a painted sunset. For this Anthias species, males and females exhibit starkly different coloration. Males are usually more colorful containing deeper purples, blues, pinks, and yellows for an overall darker color tone. They also have scattered white spots and splotches. Females exhibit more of a half and half coloration pattern. Their rear is mostly yellow/pink with their front being pink. Both males and females are incredibly beautiful and deserve attention in their own right. The Pictilis Anthias can be kept as an individual or in a group. Individuals require 50 gallons and groups at least 125 gallons. Tanks should have plenty of live rock providing places to hide and explore. If a group is desired. It is best to keep as one male and multiple females.
