The Multi-Barred Angelfish, Paracentropyge multifasciata, also known as the Multibar Angel, or Multibarred Angel, features a white body with thick black vertical striping and a vibrant yellow underbelly.
Native to the Marshall Islands, the Multi-Barred Angel will grow to six inches and requires a tank of at least 100 gallons. If multiple individuals are desired, a much larger tank will be needed to curb competition and territorialism. Tanks should be stocked with plenty of live rock and plenty of algae for the angel to graze.
Comparatively, the Multi-Barred Angel is a peaceful angelfish species. If underfed they may nip on fleshy corals and sessile inverts, so be cautious with tank pairings. They will eat multiple times per day a varied omnivorous diet of algae, spirulina, and meaty frozen preparations. They can be difficult eaters so be sure food finds its way to the Multi-Barred Angel. Lastly, multiple individuals should not be kept together unless in a very large tank.
