The Purple Firefish Goby, Nemateleotris decora, also known as the Decorated Firefish, exhibits a beautiful lavender/white body with bright red caudal and dorsal fins. It also features an elongated first dorsal spine that sticks up from its back. The Purple Firefish should be kept in a tank with plenty of a live rock, a sandy substrate, and a tightly-sealed lid to prevent escapes. They can be kept in pairs and or solitary. The Purple Firefish will eat a carnivorous diet of mainly frozen or live brine or mysis shrimp. This is a gorgeous fish that will thrive in any reef tank if housed with peaceful tank mates.
